Created by Ron Marz

The legendary Green Lantern Emerald Twilight creative team of writer Ron Marz and artist Darryl Banks join forces again to tell a story of World War 2 heroism and adventure in HARKEN'S RAIDERS. The project also includes the first collection of Darryl Banks' artwork, BLACK BOOK: THE ART OF DARRYL BANKS!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Darryl is Done!
almost 5 years ago – Mon, Jun 10, 2019 at 09:52:28 PM

The art for Harken's Raiders has taken us longer than expected to be completed, thanks in large part to artist Darryl Banks dealing with a nasty bout of the flu, and a death in the family. But we are happy to report that Darryl has completed all of his artwork for the project! We'll need a few weeks to finish up coloring, lettering, and production, and then we'll be able to send Harken's Raiders off to press, and soon after, get the fulfillment process started. Thank you for your incredible patience on our project. We think the finished product will be worth the wait.

Condolences

Some sad news to impart for this update. Aubrey Banks, father of artist Darryl Banks, passed away last week after an illness. The entire team here at Ominous Press sends its sincere condolences to Darryl Banks and his family. We are so sorry for your loss.

Understandably, Darryl’s drawing schedule has been impacted by the loss of his father. However, he’s getting back to the drawing board now, and expects to be finishing the last pages quite soon. As Darryl told writer Ron Marz, “My dad was the definition of a hard worker, and would have wanted me to get back to work. I was living with him when I got the job on Green Lantern. Even now, I feel he’s looking over my shoulder as I draw. He was there when I first put pencil to paper, after all.”

Again, condolences to Darryl and his family. Thanks to all our backers for your patience at this time.

So Close!
about 5 years ago – Fri, May 03, 2019 at 07:58:21 AM

The end of our first mission is in sight, as artists Darryl Banks and Sean Izaakse are both closing in on the last pages of their respective Harken’s Raiders stories. We expect to be wrapped up in the next few weeks, with the lettering and coloring put to bed shortly after.

Here’s a peek at a panel from one of Darryl’s recent pages. No, we’re not saying which page, because that would be telling!

It’s taken us a bit longer than expected, particularly with Darryl’s bout with the flu, but we’re almost at the finish line. Thanks so much for all your support and patience. We think we’ve put together something special, and we can’t wait to get it into your hands.

Did Someone Say Backup?
about 5 years ago – Tue, Apr 09, 2019 at 12:53:00 PM

Our initial campaign had a stretch goal to an eight-page Harken’s Raiders backup story by writer Ron Marz and artist Sean Izaakse, and starring Alfie the bulldog. Unfortunately, we came up just short of our goal, so it seemed Alfie’s tale would remain untold.

But Ron and Sean are both avowed dog lovers, and couldn’t resist telling a good dog story. So the print and digital editions of Harken’s Raiders will contain Alfie’s tale (as well as his tail)! Here’s a look at one of Sean’s pages for the story.

As you may have heard, fresh off his run on Avengers, Sean is now taking over the art duties on Fantastic Four for Marvel. Obviously, we’re thrilled he’s making time to show Alfie some love! We’re sure looking forward to Sean’s take on the first family of superheroes, especially his ever-lovin’,  blue-eyed Thing!

Darryl Banks is now working on the last 10 pages of Harken’s Raiders, lavishing attention and detail on every panel to deliver the best-looking book he can. We’ll keep you updated as we move toward the end of the art process, and then into production and printing, so we can get your rewards to you as quickly as possible. Thanks for undertaking this mission with us!

Work on Harken’s Raiders proceeds apace now that artist Darryl Banks is hale and hearty once again, and his latest batch of pages might be his best yet.

In the meantime, we wanted to let you know that writer Ron Marz will be appearing at Empire State Comic Con in Albany, NY on April 12-14 at the Albany Capital Center. In addition to Ron, the guest list includes such comic luminaries at Denny O’Neil, Joe Sinnott, Carl Potts, Paris Cullins, Craig Rousseau, Allen Bellman and Joe St. Pierre. Ron will be at the show all three days, with a great selection of Ominous Press publications offered at his table. If you’re lucky, he might just have some Harken’s Raiders pages to share!
